JPROF.com is a website designed to help people, especially students and teachers, learn about journalism. The site has a wide variety of resources that teachers and students can use to better understand the piece that journalism has in our society, the processes by which journalism operates and the skills necessary to become a journalist.

NAA is a nonprofit organization representing nearly 2,000 newspapers and their multiplatform businesses in the United States and Canada. NAA members include daily newspapers, as well as non-dailies, other print publications and online products.

The Reporters Without Borders site offers insights into the lives of journalists working around the world. Readers may browse the site according to region, including information on Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe/Ex-USSR, and Middle East/North Africa. Selecting any of these tabs triggers a drop down menu of respective countries. Selecting any of the countries navigates to an archive of all the articles published about that country written in the past decade or so. Other important features of the site include a World Press Freedom Index, which evaluates each nation on a number of variables to assign them a yearly ranking.

The Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy is a Harvard University research center dedicated to exploring and illuminating the intersection of press, politics and public policy in theory and practice. The Center strives to bridge the gap between journalists and scholars, and between them and the public. The Society of Professional Journalists is the nation’s most broad-based journalism organization, dedicated to encouraging the free practice of journalism and stimulating high standards of ethical behavior. Founded in 1909 as Sigma Delta Chi, SPJ promotes the free flow of information vital to a well-informed citizenry through the daily work of its nearly 10,000 members; works to inspire and educate current and future journalists through professional development; and protects First Amendment guarantees of freedom of speech and press through its advocacy efforts.

The Quinnipiac University Polling Institute is a public opinion polling center based at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. It surveys public opinion in Connecticut, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and nationally. The Poll is cited by major news outlets.
