Islam - RS 317: Ebooks

Ebook Central (available from the Library's databases page) offers authoritative ebooks on a wide range of subject areas, along with powerful tools to help you find, use, and manage the information you need.

Besides being able to download books to your own device, some other features* include

• saving books to your bookshelf
• highlighting
• adding notes to a page
• adding bookmarks on pages
• printing**
• copying**

Set aside time to explore Ebook Central.  You will certainly find resources for more than one research project and in more than one discipline.

*You will need to create your own account in Ebook Central in order to use these features.  They are free.  You must use your MAC email address.
**there are limits on the number of pages that can be printed and/or copied in Ebook Central due to copyright restrictions.

• Additional videos on the various features of of Ebook Central can be found on YouTube simply by entering "Ebook Central" into the search box.
• Extensive help is available in the Ebook Central database itself.  Just click on the "?" icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
• The Support Center is accessible from the Help page and offers more help topics.

Using the advanced search feature and limiting the search to the LC Subject Heading field returned the search results below.  Similar to searching in our online book catalog, Ebook Central will suggest other subject terms that will help you to narrow your results.

A search for books on the subject of Islam produced 770 documents.  By choosing the subject Medicine from the column on the left side of the page, the number of results was reduced to 5, thus producing a more focused list of books from which to choose.

Try doing this same search for yourself to see if you get similar results.  This search was run on June 30, 2017.  The number of documents may be different when you do your search as new books are being added to this database on a regular basis.
